Building Teams

I can help your team work together more cohesively, despite the previous difficulties they may have faced. The most effective team building days often involve creating a team vision and examining behavourial styles. An examination of the styles present in the team lead to a greater understanding and tolerance of why people say what they say and do what they do. Instead of judging colleagues for being “difficult”, there is a realisation that they are simply different and working relationships are often strengthened as a result.

The development of a team vision is one of the most empowering and motivating methods of uniting a team. It’s a leadership training activity that inspires the group and is something real with which to return to the workplace. Although the creation of a vision is regarded as one of the leadership core competencies, research has shown that it is much more powerful when the whole team contributes to its creation and have always been well received. In my experience, these days really do deliver and the team leaves the workshop feeling re-energised and postive.

“Sarah Christie was recommended to me by a fellow healthcare professional in a different county. I have been working in the NHS for 32 years and I am a trained Facilitator myself and was wondering what it was all going to be like! Prior to the day I had excellent service from Sarah; it was easy to work with her as she had a clear understanding about what I needed, and beyond that met and delivered the objectives of the day. I felt we had an equal and symbiotic relationship: together we shaped the day, realising what I believed I wanted and what Sarah felt she could deliver. On the day it all went very smoothly and Sarah facilitated and ran our Team Building Day:

Developing a Vision for us – the research team
Understanding our individual styles so we can work effectively together”.

Sarah was fantastic! She is a consummate professional and managed a group of 30 people with apparent ease and aplomb. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sarah Christie to any Healthcare organisation. She facilitated a large team of people and expertly brought together the themes and words articulated by the team members to form our vision. The team embraced the day and all that Sarah had to offer to us, and indeed are still talking about the day, and “what colour behaviour was that?”

Thank you so much.” Clare Meachin, Lead Research Manager, Western Sussex NHS Trust
